Robot & Frank

Posted on: March 9th, 2013

Set in the near future, Frank, a retired cat burglar, has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. Resisting to go to a nursing home, Frank’s son buys him a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health. I cant tell you much more but the story has some interesting turns. I went to see this to see some robots but got to see a well done movie about life, family and friends.

Congratulations, it’s a manwolf

Oh! My! Gaaaaaaawd!!! Did I forget to post this!? This is awesome. Living in New York for a while made me one of the few to ever see Machotaildrop . One of the best things with the stay. A really aaaaasssssssooooommmm movie about skate, self worth, commercial values and business culture. Whatever. Now their is a small little spinoff from the movie. I’m a bit late on blogging this cause I missed to blog about the… Eh, watch the video first!

…shoes! All this for some shooooooezzzzz!!? Oh I needs somes. Nows. Booooooooom!

Ok sorry, but I’m a bit hyped…

Check out Matchotaildrop at the website or read a great interview with Corey Adams,  the director of Machotaildrop at Fecal face dot com.

Machotaildrop is a highly visual and fantastical journey about an amateur skateboarder, Walter Rhum, who realizes his dream of turning pro and riding for the world’s greatest skateboard company… Machotaildrop. Set in an anachronistic time and place, Machotaildrop is the greatest skateboard company of its day and the regal and grand sport of skateboarding has been thriving for many generations. Walter’s journey serves as a window through which we discover the dark underbelly of what appears at first to be a benign skateboard company.

Welcome to planet earth

Posted on: August 24th, 2011

Welcome to Planet Earth is the story of the extremely unique Jody Pendarvis and his 30 foot UFO he built in his front yard in the small town of Bowman, SC. After a sighting of alien life forms, Jody built the giant UFO as a place to welcome aliens when they return. All though visitors are welcomed to check out this unique and slightly odd landmark, Jody hopes that he will one day see the return of his friends from the sky. This is his story.

I’ve got a new place to travel, UFO welcome center, Browman, SC.

Machotaildrop – Skate! Adventure! Awesomeness!

Posted on: February 19th, 2011

A skateboard movie which is just as much about skateboarding as Karate Kid is actually about karate. I saw this when it opened in New York this summer, it seems impossible to get a copy or see it again. No screenings in Sweden, no DVD to buy or any torrents to find.

At this point I’m Ismael, an hour of entertainment is my chewed leg and “Machotaildrop” is Moby Dick.

Made in Queens – Stereobikes galore

Made in Queens - stereo bike.

A movie about a crew of Trinidad kids now living in Queens, who built stereo systems on their BMX bikes. Really cool shit. Ch-ch-ch-check the trailer.

Last summer in a cramped, rented garage on the outskirts of Queens, NY something incredible was happening. Nicholas Ragbir, an imaginative tinkerer from Trinidad was working late into the nights creating something nobody had ever seen: enormously powerful stereo PA systems jerry rigged onto ordinary bmx bikes. It wasn’t long before Nick assembled a small crew of like-minded riders. Traveling together, each behind the handlebars of his or her own massive homemade creation, they treat the neighborhood to an outrageous impromptu music and dance party on wheels.

Mars Attacks!

Mars Attacks! movie poster

</code>Mars Attacks! Alien with a lot of humor.

The plot is simple, aliens seems to come to earth in peace but starts to vaporize everything and everyone and someone has to be the hero and stop them. The same year Mars Attacks! was released (1996) another movie with a similiar plot, Independence day, was released. I loved that movie too but Mars Attacks! was way funnier and Independence Day hasn’t aged with grace but Mars Attacks! is still fun it’s an evergreen. GREEN!? I’m not green I’m GREY, STUPID HUMANS!!!
