Toby / American Splendor on the movie revenge of the nerds

It’s a new film called Revenge of the Nerds.
It’s about a group of nerd college students…
who are being picked on all the time by the jocks.
So they decide to take revenge.

So what you’re saying is you identify with those nerds?

Yes, I consider myself a nerd…
and this movie has uplifted me.
There’s this one scene where a nerd grabs the microphone during a pep rally…
and announces that he is a nerd and that he is proud of it…
and stands up for the rights of other nerds.

Right on.

Then he asks all the kids at the pep rally…
who think they are nerds, to come forward.
So nearly everyone in the place does.
That’s the way the movie ends.

So the nerds won?

Yes.

All right!
You know, you got this movie, and I’m getting hitched.
We both had a good month.

Right.

Detroit The Blueprint Of Techno

Today I’ve been mixing and trixing. Just took a break and watched this documentary about the Detroit techno scene. A bit interested if you are a nerd I guess. I like how lo-tech the studios are. Even if I make music with gear that are limited I have most of the technology to do anything when it comes to music at my fingertips.

It feels like we have come a long way since this but I think about some of the things these guys thinks about as well.

Congratulations, it’s a manwolf

Oh! My! Gaaaaaaawd!!! Did I forget to post this!? This is awesome. Living in New York for a while made me one of the few to ever see Machotaildrop . One of the best things with the stay. A really aaaaasssssssooooommmm movie about skate, self worth, commercial values and business culture. Whatever. Now their is a small little spinoff from the movie. I’m a bit late on blogging this cause I missed to blog about the… Eh, watch the video first!

…shoes! All this for some shooooooezzzzz!!? Oh I needs somes. Nows. Booooooooom!

Ok sorry, but I’m a bit hyped…

Check out Matchotaildrop at the website or read a great interview with Corey Adams,  the director of Machotaildrop at Fecal face dot com.

Machotaildrop is a highly visual and fantastical journey about an amateur skateboarder, Walter Rhum, who realizes his dream of turning pro and riding for the world’s greatest skateboard company… Machotaildrop. Set in an anachronistic time and place, Machotaildrop is the greatest skateboard company of its day and the regal and grand sport of skateboarding has been thriving for many generations. Walter’s journey serves as a window through which we discover the dark underbelly of what appears at first to be a benign skateboard company.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

One of my favourite novels has been made into a movie and today the trailer was released. Looks pretty good. Exited!

The novel was written in 2005 by Jonathan Safran Foer. The book’s narrator is a nine-year-old boy named Oskar Schell. Two years before the story begins, Oskar’s father dies on 9/11. In the story, Oskar discovers a key in a vase that belonged to his father that inspires him to search all around New York for information about the key.
